Reverse Osmosis Systems in Tempe, Installed to Code
A reverse osmosis system under your kitchen sink gives you water for drinking, coffee and cooking that tastes clean and carries far fewer dissolved minerals. We test your water first, then install the system with a proper air gap and drain connection so it works safely for years.
What Reverse Osmosis Does for Your Home
Reverse osmosis pushes your tap water through a very fine membrane, with carbon filters before and after it. The carbon takes out chlorine taste and odor. The membrane removes most dissolved minerals and salts, along with many trace contaminants, including lead that can come from older faucets and solder. What comes out of the dedicated faucet is water you'll actually want to drink.
Water across the Phoenix area runs high in dissolved minerals, so many families notice white spots on glasses, chalky-tasting ice and a heavy feel to tap water. A reverse osmosis system fixes that for the water you drink and cook with, without treating every gallon in the house.
It is the right call when your main concern is drinking water. If you also want softer water for showers and appliances, a water softener or whole-home filtration may belong alongside it, and we'll tell you honestly if one system covers what you need.
What Your Reverse Osmosis Install Includes
Water test before any equipment
Before we suggest a model, we test your water at no charge and with zero obligation. The numbers show how hard the membrane will have to work and whether another system belongs in the picture.
Cold supply connection with a shutoff
We tie into the cold line with a dedicated valve, so the system can be shut off for filter changes without touching the rest of your kitchen plumbing.
Air gap and code-correct drain line
The reject water from the membrane drains through an air gap and connects to the sink drain above the trap. That keeps wastewater from ever siphoning back into the system, which is what plumbing code is protecting against.
Dedicated faucet, cleanly mounted
We use an existing sprayer or soap hole when you have one, or drill the countertop or sink when you don't, after talking through the spot with you.
Optional line to your fridge
If you want filtered ice and water from your refrigerator, we can run a line to it and check for leaks at every fitting.
Installation included
Install comes included with water treatment systems from us. When we give you installed pricing, the labor under your sink is already part of that number.
When Reverse Osmosis Is Worth It
Bottled water is a weekly errand
If you keep hauling cases home from the store, a system under the sink can take over that job and give you back the pantry shelf.
Coffee and tea taste flat or bitter
High mineral content and chlorine change how coffee and tea taste. Removing both makes a noticeable difference.
Cloudy ice and spotted glassware
Chalky ice cubes and white film on dishes point to dissolved minerals that a membrane removes.
Older plumbing in your home
Lead usually comes from household fixtures and solder rather than the city supply. A water test shows whether it is a concern, and reverse osmosis is a strong safeguard at the tap.
Your filter pitcher can't keep up
Pitchers improve taste but leave dissolved minerals behind, and they empty quickly in a busy kitchen.
How Your Install Day Goes
- 1
Free test and a plain-language readout
We start by testing your water, then walk you through what the numbers mean for what you drink. Installed system pricing follows by phone, and you take whatever time you need to decide.
- 2
Check the cabinet and plumbing
On install day we look at your shutoff valves, drain layout and cabinet space. Most systems fit beside the disposal, and we tell you if anything needs adjusting first.
- 3
Install and connect
We mount the filter housings and storage tank, connect the cold supply, set the faucet and run the drain line through the air gap. Most under-sink installs don't need a permit; if your job adds plumbing that does, we explain it and handle it.
- 4
Final checks and a quick lesson
Once everything is connected, we run water through to clear the new filters and watch each joint with the line pressurized. You'll see how a filter change works, step by step. Then we pack up, wipe down the cabinet and leave your kitchen tidy.
What Affects the Price of Reverse Osmosis
Most of the price comes from the system you choose and how easy your sink is to work with. We give you installed pricing by phone after your water test, with each part named, so nothing turns up later that you didn't agree to.
- Tank, tankless or remineralizing
- Simpler systems with a storage tank sit at the lower end. Tankless units, and models with a stage that puts calcium and magnesium back for taste, cost more.
- Countertop material
- Drilling stainless or laminate is quick. Granite and quartz take more time and care for a clean faucet hole.
- Fridge or ice maker line
- Running tubing to your refrigerator adds parts and labor, more so when the fridge sits across the kitchen.
- Plumbing condition
- Corroded shutoff valves or an awkward drain sometimes need replacing first so the system connects properly.
Reverse Osmosis Questions We Hear Most
Something not covered here? (480) 660-8598
Does reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?
Some water always goes down the drain, because the membrane needs a steady rinse to stay clear. Today's models use much less of it than older designs did, and we'll tell you the ratio for any system we suggest. Changing your pre-filters on time also keeps that rinse water to a minimum.
Do I need a permit for an under-sink RO system?
Usually not, since it connects to existing plumbing under your sink. What matters is that the drain connection includes an air gap and sits above the trap, which we do on every install. If your job ever needs a permit, we'll tell you before work starts.
Will hard water damage the membrane?
Very hard water can shorten membrane life. That's why we test first. If your hardness is high, we'll tell you whether a water softener ahead of the system is worth it or whether more frequent membrane changes make more sense.
How often do filters need changing?
Plan on swapping the pre- and post-filters roughly every twelve months. The membrane lasts longer, and how much longer comes down to your water and how many glasses your family pours each day. We walk you through the swap so you can handle it yourself and know which parts to order.
What warranty comes with the install?
The equipment valves and our installation and labor are each covered by a 5-year warranty. If a fitting we put in gives you trouble, we come back and make it right under that coverage.
How do I know you do good work?
We have 3 five-star Google reviews from customers. We'd also rather earn your trust by testing your water first and only recommending reverse osmosis when it fits.
